About Our Church

Established in 1735 Grace Point Church certainly has a long and storied history. While various stories of

change are recorded in our 250 year history book, one thing remains constant, we continue to pursue our

mission of developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Our vision moves us toward our community

as we seek to pursue the social, spiritual and cultural good in our town square.

That framework provides the context for two of our most unique emphases at GPC. First is our deep

involvement with our community through the Together Initiative Network. The TIN allows us, in partnership

with key community leaders, to pursue the social and cultural good of our community through initiatives

like early education, housing & food insecurities, workforce development, mentorship, etc.

The second unique emphasis at GPC is found in our byline: Every Story Matters. Through this framework

we pursue the spiritual good of the people God brings our way by helping them tell their stories and see

the story God is writing in their lives. Far more than just a byline, Every Story Matters guides our entire

discipleship framework for children, students and adults.

GPC has approximately 175 people in attendance on Sunday mornings. These people span the age

groups. Our current staff includes a full-time Lead Pastor, full-time Student Ministries Pastor, part-time

interim Children’s Ministry Director and two part-time Administrative Assistants.

GPC has one worship service on Sunday mornings. Some men’s and women's groups meet one hour

before the service for connection and encouragement. Kid’s Min programming (K-4) as well as infant and

toddler nursery are available during our worship service. 5th & 6th graders meet during the service twice

a month. The student group (jr. & sr. hi) meet Sunday nights. Some aspects are combined, but most

ministry is separate. Our small group program (Connect Groups) takes place off-site usually at people’s

homes whenever their schedule allows. GPC is affiliated with the Alliance of Mennonite Evangelical

Congregations - a loose alliance that provides some general support.

About Our Society & Culture

GPC is located in a rural, agrarian society shaped by a long history with the Amish and Mennonites.

Farmlands dot the landscape even as some evidences of urban growth spring up here and there. Unique

small towns encircle Lancaster city with its vibrant historical, culinary and artistic scenes. Our small town,

Paradise (pop. 5700), is home to many long-time residents with family land going back generations as

well as a sizable population who rent homes along our main highway corridor.

Culturally we value humility, service and hard work. We’re grateful for our volunteer firefighters, our many

local business owners, our hard-working Amish population and strive to work together for the good of our

neighbors. We enjoy many outdoor activities and many enjoy their cabin getaways.

About Our Need

Right now we have a need at GPC to staff in the area of Family Ministry. We see an increasing number of

young families calling GPC home and desire to staff for growth in this area. We desire someone who can

embrace our Every Story Matters value as well as our deep ties to our local community. We are seeking a

gospel-centered, kingdom minded individual who resonates with these values and desires to see families

both inside and outside the church supported and strengthened.

Our ideal candidate might be transitioning from another successful family ministry position or undergoing

a career transition. We are looking for someone who works well on a team but also thrives as a self-

starter.
